For the followers of Lord Rama

This tour takes place by visiting the places specific to the history of Lord Rama. Rama’s life is described in the Hindu texts as one challenged by unexpected changes, such as an exile into impoverished and difficult circumstances, and challenges of ethical questions and moral dilemmas.

The tour is provided in two different ways.
The first option is a car with a driver who will stop at each point of the temples to be visited.
The second option is a car with a driver and a tour guide who will explain every detail of the history and lifestyle of the places you will visit.

We starts from Varanasi and ends in Ayodhya, or we can also start from Ayodhya and end in Varanasi.
Both options are available.

The first city is Ayodhya

Kanak Bhawan (lit. ’Golden Palace’) is a temple in Ram Janmabhoomi, Ayodhya, which is in the north-east of Ramkot. It is one of the most famous temples of Ayodhya. It is believed that this palace (temple) was gifted by Kaikeyi, immediately after the marriage of Rama with Sita and hence, it is their personal palace.

Dashrath Mahal is a significant historical site located in Ayodhya, believed to be the palace of King Dashrath, the father of Lord Rama.

Lakshmana Ghat is a significant riverside destination in Ayodhya, dedicated to Shri Ram’s brother Lakshman. It offers a unique experience, with a more turbulent water flow compared to other ghats in the city.

Guptar Ghat is a sacred Hindu ghat located on the banks of River Saryu in Faizabad, near Ayodhya. It holds immense religious significance as the site where Lord Rama is believed to have taken his heavenly abode (Jal Samadhi).

The second city is Prayagraj

In Hindu tradition, Triveni Sangam is revered as a sacred spot, where the three rivers meet. The confluence is believed to possess spiritual powers, and bathing in its waters is considered a purifying experience.

The Hanuman Temple in Prayagraj is located near the Sangam and Fort and is situated on the banks of the Ganga and Yamuna rivers. The temple is known for its unique idol of Lord Hanuman in a reclining position. The idol is 20 feet tall and is situated 8.10 feet below the ground within the temple.

The third city is Chitrakoot

On the Hanuman Dhara Chitrakoot Dham, a very famous temple of Hanuman is situated which is on height. If you want to reach the temple then you have to go through stairs.

Sita Rasoi is a historic site located in Chitrakoot, and is believed to be the place where Sita, the wife of Lord Ram, cooked food for her family during their exile.

Located in the heart of Chitrakoot, Shri Kamta Nath Mandir is a sacred temple complex believed to be the abode of Lord Ram, Sita, and Lakshmana during their exile. The temple is situated on the Kamadgiri hill, also known as the original Chitrakoot, which is said to fulfill all wishes and desires.

And many other places to explore in Chitrakoot….

South City Walk

Embark on a walking tour through the vibrant streets of South Varanasi, a region steeped in history, culture, and spirituality. This journey promises to be an unforgettable experience, filled with iconic landmarks, bustling markets, and serene ghats along the sacred Ganges River. We will be exploring the temples in the hidden alleyways which are non-touristic and less explored by the regular tourists.

Begin your tour at Assi Ghat, one of the most prominent and lively ghats in Varanasi. Assi Ghat is a popular spot for both locals and tourists, known for its breathtaking sunrises and serene atmosphere. Witness the early morning Aarti ceremony, where devotees offer prayers to the river, creating a mesmerizing spectacle of lights and chants.

From Assi Ghat, make your way to the Tulsi Manas Temple, a beautiful shrine dedicated to Lord Rama. This temple is significant because it marks the place where the epic Ramcharitmanas was written by the poet-saint Tulsidas. The walls of the temple are adorned with verses from this holy text, making it a place of great spiritual and literary importance.

Next, visit the Durga Temple, also known as the Monkey Temple due to the large population of monkeys that inhabit the area. This striking red temple is dedicated to the goddess Durga and is an excellent example of North Indian temple architecture.

Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple
A short walk from BHU leads you to the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple. This revered temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman and is believed to relieve devotees from troubles and afflictions. The temple is especially crowded on Tuesdays and Saturdays, days considered sacred to Hanuman.

Local Bazaars and Street Food
No walking tour of South Varanasi is complete without exploring its bustling bazaars. Head to the Lanka Market, a vibrant area known for its eclectic mix of shops selling everything from traditional Banarasi silk sarees to handcrafted jewelry and souvenirs.

While in the market, don’t miss out on the local street food. Savor the flavors of chaat, kachaudi, and the famous Banarasi paan. For a sweet treat, try the jalebis and rabri from one of the many sweet shops dotting the streets.

Conclude your tour at Tulsi Ghat, named after the poet-saint Tulsidas. This ghat is less crowded than the more famous ghats, offering a peaceful end to your journey. In the evening, enjoy the tranquil ambiance as you watch the Ganges flow by, reflecting the lights of the city.

A walking tour in South Varanasi is a journey through the heart of this ancient city, offering a unique blend of spiritual, cultural, and historical experiences. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned traveler, the sights, sounds, and flavours of South Varanasi will leave an indelible mark on your soul.
