The River Ganges, or Ganga, is not just a river to the people of India; it is revered as a living goddess, a source of life, and a path to liberation.

Hindus believe that bathing in the Ganges can wash away one’s sins, while the river’s sacred waters have the power to purify and bless. In Varanasi, the river flows alongside hundreds of ghats—stone steps leading down to the water—each with its own unique significance. From birth to death, many significant life events are celebrated or commemorated on the banks of the Ganges, making a boat ride a journey through the ebb and flow of life itself.

Boat rides on the Ganges typically begin at dawn or dusk, when the river’s serenity and beauty are at their peak.

The mornings offer a tranquil atmosphere, with the mist slowly lifting from the water, revealing a picturesque view of the city as it wakes up. At dusk, the river is bathed in the golden glow of the setting sun, a time when the ghats come alive with the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti—a daily ritual of worship, where priests perform an elaborate ceremony to honor the river.

Subah-E-Banaras. One of the most beautiful aspects of mornings in Varanasi is that the aarti is not attended by massive crowds, so only the most religious devotees will be in attendance. 

The guest will be visiting the Assi ghat for Morning Ganga Aarti and also enjoying the scenic view of sunrise on a Handboat/Motorboat.
